About
Purpose and Mission
Beginning in the fall of 2006, a group of dedicated community volunteers launched the District 113 Education Foundation after collaborative conversations with staff, parents and other community members.
The mission of the District 113 Education Foundation is: To enhance and enrich the education programs at Deerfield and Highland Park High Schools by promoting and supporting innovative educational opportunities.
Funding and Grants
The District 113 Education Foundation supports teacher and staff initiated programs at Deerfield and Highland Park High Schools for science, the arts, languages, general education and culture, as well as at-risk students, which are not otherwise funded by the school District budget. Grants awarded have supported programs such as Latin Dance, Giants Performing Arts, Robotics, Beyond Homework, the Spanish and French Libraries, Interactive White Boards, the Literary Festival and the Young Journalist Work Project. The District 113 Education Foundation receives funding from a broad-base of businesses, individuals and alumni, including significant in-kind contributions.
