The 113 Foundation welcomes back all students, parents and staff to a new school year! We had a great year last year fulfilling our mission to enrich programming at HPHS and DHS and look forward to reviewing teacher and staff grant applications for the 2016-2017 school year which are due on October 15th.
Thanks to all of you who came out on the evening of August 2nd at Beelow’s Highland Park where we hosted a meet and greet for the new Deerfield High School principal Kathryn Anderson and current Highland Park High School principal Tom Koulentes.
We invite you to join us at Panera Bread Highland Park on October 19th where a percentage of sales will go to support the Foundation.
Last year donations supported over $18,000 in grants to 15 groups at Deerfield and Highland Park High Schools, including science department programs Measuring Cardiac Health, Genetics Enrichment & Innovation, and Mitochondrial DNA; math department programs Vernier Data Probes and TI-Nspire faculty training; and support programs Mosaic, De Padre A Estudiante, and HP3, among others. Funds raised by the Foundation enhance and enrich education programs such as these by promoting and supporting innovative educational opportunities. Our funding helps provide resources that augment and incubate exciting ideas and opportunities to deeply impact student learning. Over the years the Foundation has funded grants in excess of $200,000.
Thanks in advance to everyone for supporting the Foundation by joining us on October 19th at Panera Bread in Highland Park and thanks to those who supported us by purchasing tickets to Broadway in Chicago’s Hamilton. This year’s Pizza Bowl and Baker’s Cup will be held on Sunday, January 29th at Deerfield High School so we hope you mark the date!
Please also consider making a donation to thank a teacher or staff member for going above and beyond through our Honor an Educator program.
